Charlotte Hornets head coach Charles Lee announced that Kon Knueppel is taking the next steps toward returning from a strained left hamstring. Knueppel completed a successful practice session with the Greensboro Swarm in the NBA G League and responded well the following day. He is scheduled to rejoin the Hornets after their current three-game road trip to begin team acclimation and increase contact work.
Knueppel has missed training camp and the first six games of the season after suffering the injury in September. His impending return comes as the 3-3 Hornets manage injuries to Coby White and Grant Williams while seeking to improve an offense that averaged only 84.0 points across two consecutive losses.
