Washington Wizards forward Bilal Coulibaly faces uncertainty regarding his rotation role and rookie scale extension ahead of the October 19 deadline, according to The Athletic. Coulibaly came off the bench during the preseason opener, and Josh Robbins speculates that any potential extension is unlikely to exceed the annual average values given previously to Deni Avdija or Corey Kispert.
Elsewhere in the Eastern Conference, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra praised Giannis Antetokounmpo's assertive play and playmaking following consecutive preseason wins. Meanwhile, veteran Norman Powell has emerged as a vocal leader for the Bulls, and Cavaliers rookie Meleek Thomas earned early rotation minutes ahead of Tyrese Proctor and Craig Porter Jr. against Boston.
