Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell and head coach Kenny Atkinson addressed LeBron James' decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers during media day on Monday. The Cavaliers had sought to convince James to return to Cleveland during the offseason before he ultimately opted to sign with Philadelphia.

Following James' choice, Cleveland pivoted to alternative roster options by trading for and signing forward Peyton Watson to a five-year contract extension. General Manager Koby Altman noted the team remains built for sustained success as the roster departs for an eight-day training camp in Spain.
