The Los Angeles Clippers are exercising their rookie scale team option on center Yanic Konan Niederhauser for the 2027/28 season, according to Law Murray of The Athletic. The third-year option is valued at just over $3 million and will now become fully guaranteed.
Selected 30th overall in the 2025 NBA draft out of Penn State, Niederhauser appeared in 41 games as a rookie before undergoing season-ending foot surgery in March. Although he has not yet made his season debut following an additional procedure in July, the decision signals he remains in the Clippers' long-term plans.
