Caleb Martin remains a Dallas Maverick

Forward Caleb Martin is entering his eighth NBA season and his third with the Dallas Mavericks ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. Mavs Moneyball writer Kirk Henderson examines Martin's diminished standing, noting that the veteran has little expected on-court role due to a crowded roster of forwards.

Henderson argues Martin represents poor roster management under former general manager Nico Harrison, who acquired him from the Philadelphia 76ers for Quentin Grimes in February 2025. Martin is earning approximately $10 million this season on his contract, with Henderson suggesting his best contribution will be limited to veteran leadership and rare spot minutes.
