Dusty May Reveals Where Morez Johnson Jr. Stands After Limited Camp Start

Dallas Mavericks head coach Dusty May announced on Monday that rookie Morez Johnson Jr. has seen limited practice time during training camp. May did not specify the cause of the restriction but indicated the forward is working his way back and nearing full participation ahead of the team's preseason opener against the Houston Rockets on October 9 in Macao.

Johnson was drafted ninth overall by Dallas in 2026 after previously playing under May at the University of Michigan. He is among three limited Mavericks big men, alongside Santi Aldama and Dereck Lively II, who are both recovering from respective surgical procedures.
