DALLAS — Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg will play together for the second time Friday night, when the Dallas Mavericks close the preseason against the Atlanta Hawks.
Dallas Mavericks head coach Dusty May praised the pairing of Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg, calling them a potential ‘heck of a one-two punch’ once they find their rhythm. The duo is set to start together for just the second time on Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks in the preseason finale at American Airlines Center.
The pair previously shared the court on October 11 in a 132-115 win over the Houston Rockets in Macao, which marked Irving's return from an ACL tear suffered in March 2025. May highlighted the intentional communication between the 34-year-old veteran and Flagg, who won Rookie of the Year honors last season after being selected first overall in 2025.
