Jason Kidd may be trading the Mavericks’ sideline for a television studio. The former Dallas coach is in advanced talks to join ESPN’s NBA studio coverage, Marc Stein of The Stein Line reports.
Former Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd is reportedly in advanced discussions to join ESPN as part of its NBA studio coverage, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line. While no formal contract has been finalized and his exact role remains unannounced, the network has an opening following Michael Malone's departure to coach at North Carolina.
Kidd was dismissed by Dallas in May following a five-season tenure that featured a trip to the 2024 NBA Finals. The Mavericks subsequently appointed Masai Ujiri as president of basketball operations and Dusty May as head coach, leaving the Hall of Fame point guard available for a media role.
