The Dallas Mavericks exercised the third-year rookie scale option on Cooper Flagg for the 2027-28 season, valued at $15,208,680. The move comes two weeks ahead of the deadline as Flagg prepares for his second NBA season under new head coach Dusty May. The Mavericks originally selected Flagg with the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft on a four-year contract.
Flagg was named the 2025-26 NBA Rookie of the Year after averaging 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists across 70 games.
