Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall broke a basketball rim and a folding chair during a practice session in Macao, China. In a team video posted to social media, Marshall joked about his strength after pulling down the rim. Teammate Dereck Lively II was seen carrying the detached rim back toward the locker room ahead of the team's upcoming preseason action.
The Mavericks are in Southern China to play two preseason games against the Houston Rockets at Venetian Arena on Friday and Sunday. Marshall is coming off a 2025-26 season where he averaged a career-high 15.2 points per game, and he enters the new campaign reunited with assistant coach Willie Green on head coach Dusty May's staff.
