DAZN is about to become a very familiar name to Cavaliers fans. Apparently, the company hopes that’s only the beginning. DAZN executive Pete Oliver said the streaming service is interested in eventually pursuing national sports rights in the United States…

Streaming service DAZN is using local broadcast deals with the Cleveland Cavaliers and other NBA franchises as a foundation to expand its presence across the United States. DAZN executive Pete Oliver stated that the platform aims to eventually pursue national sports rights as its regional footprint grows, taking advantage of shifts following the collapse of the traditional regional sports network model.
DAZN serves as the exclusive local broadcast home for five teams this season, including the Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, and San Antonio Spurs, while holding arrangements with five other franchises. Oliver noted that the company plans to build systematically through regional rights rather than spending irrationally on major national packages.
