Nikola Jokic has seen the post play become more physical. The Nuggets can move him to the midrange and still have an advantage.

Writer David Decker argues that the Denver Nuggets should help Nikola Jokic utilize his midrange jumper and floater more to counter increasing physicality inside. Following Denver's 128-109 victory against the Toronto Raptors, Jokic voiced frustration regarding officiating down low. Jokic claimed that defenders are allowed significantly more pushing and grabbing in the paint, suggesting the traditional low post could eventually fade away.
To counter this defensive contact and preserve his longevity, Decker suggests Denver feed Jokic near the elbow rather than low post positions. Jokic posted 32 points in the win over Toronto, but Decker notes that relying more on his league-leading 55.9% midrange shooting from last season would offer Denver a major tactical advantage.
