Ryan Nembhard could finally address Nuggets’ backup point guard depth

The Denver Nuggets are reportedly considered a prime suitor to sign guard Ryan Nembhard to a two-way contract if he clears waivers with the Charlotte Hornets, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. Nembhard was recently traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Hornets alongside Buddy Hield and cash in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith, with Charlotte expected to waive him.

Denver recently filled its final two-way roster spot by signing Cam Whitmore, but the team could open a spot by waiving guard KJ Simpson. The Nuggets previously signed Tyus Jones this offseason to provide additional point guard depth behind starter Jamal Murray.
