The reported clause surprised Duren and his representatives, as he has no public history of weight issues and earned All-Star and All-NBA Third Team honors in the 2025-26 season. However, Pistons executives, led by president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon, noted a decline in Duren's playoff production compared to his regular-season averages.
