The Pistons' deal with Ausar Thompson already looks good.

Writer Aaron Kellerstrass argues that Cason Wallace's new five-year, $139 million extension with the OKC Thunder makes Ausar Thompson's contract look favorable for the Detroit Pistons. Thompson signed an extension worth roughly $16 million more in total, earning only about $3 million more annually than Wallace.
Kellerstrass contends that Thompson is the superior player with higher upside, offering greater defensive versatility, rebounding, and shot creation compared to Wallace. He considers Thompson's contract a home run for Pistons executive Trajan Langdon, noting both players are defensive standouts worthy of their deals.
