All-NBA center Jalen Duren has agreed to a five-year, $200 million fully guaranteed contract to return to the Detroit Pistons, his agent Chafie Fields told ESPN. The permanent deal ends a four-month contract standoff that stretched into the start of training camp, with Duren previously skipping media day and practices.
Duren accepted the standing proposal shortly before an 11:59 p.m. ET deadline to sign a one-year qualifying offer. The 22-year-old center averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds last regular season, helping Detroit claim the Eastern Conference's top seed.
