Less than four minutes into his season debut, Brandin Podziemski was in visible pain beneath the Grizzlies’ basket.

Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski gave his team an early injury scare during Friday's home opener against the Memphis Grizzlies. Less than four minutes into his season debut, Podziemski sustained a blow to the face from Zach Edey and took a hard fall on a drive to the basket, leaving him in visible pain on the hardwood. He promptly exited to the locker room during the next stoppage of play.
Podziemski soon returned to the bench with a heating pad on his lower back and re-entered the contest with 1:06 left in the first quarter. He quickly allayed concerns by intercepting a pass from Quinten Post and scoring the final two buckets of the period, leading the Warriors with nine points on 4-of-4 shooting in the opening quarter.
