Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg gets blunt Steve Kerr reality check

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr provided rookie Yaxel Lendeborg with a blunt reality check following a 131-122 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night. Highlighting a play where Lendeborg collided with Khaman Maluach, Kerr emphasized that physical moves acceptable in college do not work in the NBA, though he expressed confidence the rookie will improve with film study and playing time.

Despite the critique, Kerr praised the Summer League MVP as fearless and highly skilled. Lendeborg previously drew attention after his NBA debut against the Los Angeles Lakers, where he trash-talked Luka Doncic. Through Golden State's 0-3 start, Lendeborg is averaging 18.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.
