The Charlotte Hornets have exercised the third-year team options for the 2027/28 season on wings Kon Knueppel and Liam McNeeley, the team announced in a press release. Following the move, Knueppel will earn approximately $11 million in his third NBA season, while McNeeley is set to earn around $3 million. Knueppel was the fourth overall pick in 2025 and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting, whereas McNeeley was drafted 25th overall.
Charlotte now has until November 1, 2027, to determine whether to pick up the fourth-year options for both players. Meanwhile, the press release made no mention of forward Tidjane Salaun, leaving the Hornets until Monday to decide on his $10.4 million fourth-year option.
