Former Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau visits Houston Rockets training camp

Former New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau attended Houston Rockets training camp practices on Thursday and Friday. Thibodeau was primarily on hand to observe practice and spend time with Rockets scout Ed Pinckney, a former assistant coach under him. Rockets head coach Ime Udoka noted that Thibodeau reached out to visit Houston as part of an effort to make the rounds across NBA training camps.

Thibodeau previously served as an assistant coach for the Rockets from 2003 to 2007 under Jeff Van Gundy. The 68-year-old took the previous season off after being dismissed by the Knicks following the 2024-25 campaign, after which New York won the NBA championship under head coach Mike Brown.
