No Houston Rockets fan has experienced a rebuild quite like this one. Yes, there have been rebuilds. Some of you are old enough to remember the Rockets tanking for Hakeem Olajuwon even though they already had Ralph Sampson. That’s probably…

Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr. is experiencing a major breakout early in the 2026-27 season, according to The Dream Shake's James Piercey. Smith Jr. is averaging 19.0 points per game while shooting 48.9% from the field and 44.7% from three-point range, improving significantly upon his 15.9 points per game from the prior season.
Piercey attributes the leap to improved shot quality under head coach Ime Udoka, with 25.7% of Smith Jr.'s field goals classified as wide open. While Piercey notes Smith Jr.'s three-point percentage may regress, he argues the forward is primed for a career-best campaign due to improved confidence and offensive execution.
