The Houston Rockets waived Bryce Harris, Cameron Matthews, and Caleb McConnell on October 17 ahead of their regular-season opener. The moves were made to trim Houston's 21-man roster down to 18 players, which currently includes two players on two-way contracts. All three waived players were on Exhibit 10 training camp deals and were not projected to secure final rotational spots.
Harris, Matthews, and McConnell are expected to join Houston's G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The Rockets still hold Oscar Tshiebwe and Julian Phillips on Exhibit 10 deals as the front office evaluates candidates for the team's final open two-way contract slot.
