The Warriors center has not appeared in a game this season due to an unspecified medical issue.

Golden State Warriors center Kristaps Porziņģis announced on Friday that he is stepping away from basketball. The decision comes as the veteran big man continues to deal with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), an autoimmune disorder that has kept him off the court throughout this season.
Porziņģis signed a two-year, $40 million contract with Golden State during the summer after arriving via trade in February. Prior to his announcement, reporter Jake Fischer reported that the Warriors viewed Porziņģis' absence as unexcused, withheld his pay, and explored trading him. Porziņģis stated that he hopes to work alongside the franchise to reach an amicable resolution.
