Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick revealed that guard Bronny James and rookie Cameron Carr were assigned to the G League affiliate Coachella Valley Lakers to gain playing time. Redick emphasized that both players need regular repetitions after seeing limited minutes early in the NBA season.
Carr and James have combined for minimal on-court action amid the Lakers' strong start. Following their G League assignment to earn valuable game reps, both guards are scheduled to rejoin the Lakers for an upcoming three-game road trip featuring matchups against Detroit, Atlanta, and Milwaukee.
