Jarred Vanderbilt starred in his bench role in the Lakers’ 103-87 win over the Clippers at Intuit Dome. The offensive numbers are unremarkable. The impact was undeniable.

Jarred Vanderbilt delivered a standout bench performance in his regular-season debut to help the Los Angeles Lakers defeat the LA Clippers 103-87 at Intuit Dome. Despite not scoring, Vanderbilt recorded seven rebounds and posted a plus-22 rating in just over 21 minutes on the court. Teammate Collin Sexton praised Vanderbilt as a true professional for maintaining readiness despite missing the season's first four games.
With the Lakers managing limited depth behind starting center Walker Kessler, head coach JJ Redick deployed Vanderbilt alongside Sandro Mamukelashvili in small-ball lineups. Redick noted that Vanderbilt may see minutes at center by necessity as the coaching staff evaluates frontcourt options like Kevon Looney. The Lakers also signed center Lawson Lovering to a two-way deal and waived AK Okereke.
