The new-look "Battle of L.A." will commence Friday when the Luka Doncic-led Los Angeles Lakers square off against the Darius Garland-led Los Angeles Clippers.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers will renew their rivalry on Friday behind new franchise cornerstones Luka Doncic and Darius Garland. Both teams enter the matchup after offseason departures saw LeBron James join the Philadelphia 76ers and Kawhi Leonard depart for the Toronto Raptors. Each squad secured convincing season-opening wins on Wednesday to start their new eras.
Doncic recorded 28 points, seven assists, and eight rebounds in the Lakers' 127-105 win over the Golden State Warriors, while new center Walker Kessler added 26 points on 12-for-12 shooting. Meanwhile, Garland led the Clippers with 30 points in a 121-96 victory over the Sacramento Kings, supported by veteran Brook Lopez and rookie Keaton Wagler.
