The Los Angeles Clippers are waiving center/forward Johni Broome, according to reports from Jake Fischer and Law Murray. The move comes as the team addresses a roster crunch with 16 players on guaranteed contracts heading into the season. Unless claimed off waivers by another team, the Clippers will remain responsible for paying Broome's full $2.15 million guaranteed salary for the season.
Broome was acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers alongside a future second-round pick during the offseason. The 24-year-old appeared in 11 NBA games as a rookie last season, while spending most of the year in the G League with the Delaware Blue Coats.
