Darius Garland, the Clippers’ longest-tenured All-Star, is stepping into the role of a franchise’s clear first option for the first time in his career.
Darius Garland stated that the Los Angeles Clippers have improved following Kawhi Leonard's departure, highlighting the team's ability to push the pace, play faster, and embrace a younger roster. Speaking to ESPN's Marc J. Spears, Garland expressed excitement about stepping into the clear first-option and leadership role for the franchise entering his eighth NBA season.
Garland also shared that his toe injury is fully healed after spending the summer recovering. With Leonard traded to the Toronto Raptors for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, and multiple draft picks, Garland urged Clippers fans to stay patient as a revamped roster works through early-season injuries and builds chemistry.
