Kris Dunn’s campaign for an extension with the Clippers is off to an incredible start

Writer Iliyan Lakhani argues that the LA Clippers should sign Kris Dunn to a contract extension following his strong start to the season. Although entering the year on an expiring $5.6 million contract as a potential trade candidate, Dunn has excelled on both ends of the court, averaging 9.7 points, 6.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks while shooting 61.1% from the field.

Lakhani contends that despite the team's shift toward younger players, Dunn provides crucial veteran leadership and elite defense against top opponents. The writer highlights Dunn's lockdown defensive performances against players such as Luka Doncic and Darius Acuff Jr., arguing his two-way contributions justify a long-term deal.
