Before the Lakers make Dalton Knecht the final roster cut or trade him away to a team like the Bulls, he proved why he could stick around.
Los Angeles Lakers wing Dalton Knecht faces potential roster elimination before the 2026-27 season, but an improved preseason performance offers him a slight chance to stay. Amid widespread expectations that the Lakers will waive him by October 19 if no trade materializes, Knecht scored 11 points in 22 minutes during a preseason blowout loss to the Golden State Warriors.
LakeShowLife's Maxwell Ogden noted that Knecht's assertive display provides a glimmer of hope to beat out Jaden Hardy for the final roster spot. Additionally, Heavy reports the Lakers could still seek a trade, with insider Brett Siegel suggesting Chicago Bulls center Jalen Smith as a potential target.
