Less than two weeks before the 2026-27 regular season begins, Nick Young gave his thoughts on the LA Lakers and made it clear that he is not convinced Luka Doncic and co.

Former NBA player Nick Young questioned the championship credentials of the Los Angeles Lakers during an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast. While praising the backcourt tandem of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, Young argued that the roster lacks the interior presence needed to contend, highlighting center Walker Kessler's defensive role against elite teams.
Despite expressing doubts about their title hopes, Young noted that the Lakers would still provide entertainment with their perimeter play. Doncic entered the preseason fully recovered from a previous hamstring injury, averaging 22.0 points and 3.0 assists across two preseason appearances.
