Former Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard pitched an NBA comeback after debuting overseas with European club Black Fortress Tbilisi. Howard shared his debut game highlights on social media with the caption, "Philly what we doing," seemingly targeting the Philadelphia 76ers. Philadelphia recently lost backup center Arial Hukporti to a torn Achilles tendon sustained during a preseason contest against the New York Knicks.
Howard recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks in his debut against BC Iverioni Gori. The 40-year-old previously played for Philadelphia during the 2020-21 season following a 2020 championship run with the Lakers, who also face depth concerns in their frontcourt.
