The Lakers could benefit from Adam Flagler's release by the Sacramento Kings, with Coachella Valley holding the guard's G League rights.

The Los Angeles Lakers could benefit after the Sacramento Kings waived guard Adam Flagler on the eve of the 2026-27 NBA regular season. The Lakers' G League affiliate, Coachella Valley, acquired Flagler's returning player rights from the Austin Spurs on September 4. Because Flagler is now an unrestricted free agent, Coachella Valley controls his developmental rights if he decides to play in the G League.
Flagler, who previously spent time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, appeared in 17 G League games last season, averaging 14.5 points and 4.8 assists. While he remains eligible for another NBA two-way contract or could explore international options, joining Coachella Valley would give the Lakers organization an experienced backcourt option alongside Jahmir Young and Chris Manon.
