The NBA has officially rescinded a technical foul assessed to Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic during a win over the Miami Heat. Doncic received the call late in the second quarter after clapping at officials, an infraction he immediately disputed on the court. Following a league review of the incident, the technical foul was removed.
The decision lowers Doncic's season count from two technical fouls to one, helping him avoid the NBA's 16-technical threshold that triggers an automatic one-game suspension and fine. Doncic scored 42 points, seven rebounds, and 13 assists in the blowout victory against Miami.
