The Lakers quietly add two big men to their developmental pipeline, including an experienced NBA center who could address a key concern.

The Los Angeles Lakers' G League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Lakers, acquired the returning-player rights to centers Micah Potter and James Banks III from the Austin Spurs. Guards Stanley Umude and Isaiah Miller were also included in the trade, with Coachella Valley sending Austin the returning-player rights to center Malik Williams.
While the transaction does not place either center directly onto Los Angeles' NBA roster, it strengthens the organization's developmental pipeline. Potter has played in 111 NBA games across five seasons, most recently with the Indiana Pacers, while Banks brings paint protection and rebounding depth.
