The Los Angeles Lakers are still working through the final pieces of their roster, and Wednesday showed how quickly a spot can turn over. In a matter of hours, the front office made four moves: two players were waived, two…
The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones to an Exhibit 10 deal, waiving guard Jahmir Young in a corresponding roster move. Tait-Jones arrives following a championship season in Europe with Latvian club Valmiera Glass VIA, where he was named Final MVP of the Latvian-Estonian League. Young was waived just hours after the Lakers had signed him to replace forward Cole Swider.
Tait-Jones's non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract allows the Lakers to evaluate him against the Denver Nuggets before finalizing their opening-night roster. The front office currently carries 16 guaranteed contracts and must trim the roster to the league maximum of 15 players. Bronny James, Dalton Knecht, and Jaden Hardy are reportedly competing for that final roster spot.
