The Lakers still have areas to clean up as preseason play winds down.

With two preseason games remaining before their October 21 season opener against the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers are focused on improving their play and managing player availability. The California Post reports that head coach JJ Redick's team faces key areas needing cleanup before the regular season begins, most notably high turnover numbers and poor defensive rebounding.
The Lakers entered Monday ranked 28th in preseason turnover rate at 22.3 percent, driven by miscues from primary ball-handlers Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves alongside the bench unit. Additionally, Los Angeles has struggled on the glass, posting a 61.6 percent defensive rebounding rate as center Walker Kessler prepares to return from a pinky injury.
