The Los Angeles Lakers should use Sandro Mamukelashvili over Kevon Looney at the five when Walker Kessler is off the floor.

Tyler Watts of Lake Show Life argues that the Los Angeles Lakers should play Sandro Mamukelashvili over Kevon Looney as the team's primary backup center. While head coach JJ Redick started Looney in two preseason games, Mamukelashvili posted 19 points, four assists, and three rebounds in 21 minutes during a preseason victory over the Sacramento Kings.
Watts contends that Looney's declining foot speed and rim protection limit his effectiveness, making Mamukelashvili's offensive versatility and perimeter shooting ideal behind expected starter Walker Kessler.
