An ankle-breaker and a loss weren’t enough. Stephen Curry had to diss Luka Doncic too. The season-opener loss and early trash talk were avenged when the Golden State Warriors faced the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Cup’s first group…

Stephen Curry addressed his viral crossover move against Luka Doncic during the Golden State Warriors' 112-95 NBA Cup victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. After dropping Doncic with a step-back three-pointer, Curry admitted postgame that he did not expect the highlight to get that nasty. Curry finished with 31 points to guide Golden State through a 25-point comeback at Chase Center.
The performance also saw Curry reach 26,669 career points, passing Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins for 18th on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Doncic scored 37 points for the Lakers in the loss, which marked the opening group stage game for both teams in the tournament.
