"Anybody else puts those numbers up, and they're walking away with the MVP," Draymond Green said of Dončić.

NBA observers and players are debating whether Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Dončić is overlooked in MVP discussions due to what Draymond Green describes as "greatness fatigue." Dončić received no votes in NBA.com's annual preseason survey of league general managers, despite finishing in the top five of MVP voting four times in his career. The discussion followed Dončić's 28-point performance in the Lakers' 128-107 win over the Golden State Warriors.
Green argued that Dončić's consistent excellence causes voters to take his elite production for granted, comparing the dynamic to past MVP voting regarding LeBron James. Lakers guard Austin Reaves agreed that voters have become desensitized to Dončić's high-level numbers, though Reaves suggested Dončić could re-enter the MVP conversation if the revamped Lakers secure a top-four playoff seed in the Western Conference.
