Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick provided injury updates on new acquisitions Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton, who have yet to play this preseason. Redick remains noncommittal regarding their availability for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors in Las Vegas. Kessler is dealing with a finger injury sustained hitting the backboard, while Sexton continues to manage a lower leg issue and is currently tracking slightly behind Kessler in his recovery process.
Redick stated that Kessler participated in non-live portions of Saturday's practice. Elsewhere on the roster, Arthur Kaluma returned as a full practice participant, while Ziaire Williams remained limited due to a minor foot contusion. In Kessler's absence, Redick noted the Lakers are relying on centers Kevon Looney and Sandro Mamukelashvili while emphasizing the importance of larger wing players to aid defensive rebounding.
