Ziaire Williams continues to be an unsung hero to the Lakers’ strong start

The writer argues that Ziaire Williams has emerged as an unsung hero during the Los Angeles Lakers' 2-0 start to the season. In a 125-117 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, Williams scored 14 points, grabbed five rebounds, and recorded two steals on 5-of-7 shooting. Lambert praises his decisive play and intelligent decision-making, noting he has effectively filled the versatile wing role the team required after missing out on Jonathan Kuminga.

Lambert emphasizes that Williams' fast processing ability makes him an ideal complement to Luka Doncic and fits coach JJ Redick's system well. Signed away from the Brooklyn Nets in the offseason, Williams also contributed on the glass while the Clippers focused on Walker Kessler. The writer concludes that general manager Rob Pelinka made a strong addition in Williams, though the roster still needs a backup center.
