Guard Melvin Council Jr. is seeking to return to Kansas for a fifth collegiate season after being granted a preliminary injunction. Kansas head coach Bill Self confirmed Council will immediately begin practicing with the Jayhawks, praising his leadership and impact on the program.

Council went undrafted earlier this year before agreeing to an Exhibit 10 deal and playing Summer League games with the New Orleans Pelicans. He becomes the second player attempting a Jayhawks return this offseason alongside former teammate Tre White.
