The Cleveland Cavaliers are apparently a point guard factory. Two of the NBA’s best point guards so far this season were recent members — teammates even — with the Cavs. It’s just that neither of them play for the Cavs…

The Cleveland Cavaliers are relying on veteran point guard James Harden while former Cleveland guards Ty Jerome and Darius Garland excel with their new teams. Jerome, who left Cleveland in free agency, is averaging 29.8 points per game for the Memphis Grizzlies. Meanwhile, Garland is averaging 24.0 points and 7.0 assists per game for the Los Angeles Clippers following his trade for Harden last season.
In contrast, the 37-year-old Harden has experienced a slower start to the season with Cleveland. Through three games, Harden is averaging 15.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists, shooting 35.1% from the field. Cleveland recently secured a 127-125 overtime victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
