If things don't shift quickly, the Miami Heat may have no other option than to bench Klay Thompson - similar to the way the Dallas Mavericks did last year.
All U Can Heat writer Michael Saenz argues that Klay Thompson's defensive issues could soon cost him his spot in the Miami Heat's starting lineup. While Thompson is shooting 41 percent from deep, he currently holds the starting lineup's worst defensive rating at 130.4 and a team-worst -17.8 net rating.
Saenz notes that head coach Erik Spoelstra could potentially replace Thompson with Pelle Larsson to boost the defense. However, the writer cautions that benching Thompson would sacrifice crucial offensive floor spacing, especially with Andrew Wiggins struggling offensively.
