The Miami Heat's early-season struggles could end up being a blessing in disguise.

The Miami Heat opened their season with an 0-3 record while attempting to integrate new star Giannis Antetokounmpo alongside Bam Adebayo. Writer Michael Saenz argues that despite early defensive confusion and offensive spacing concerns, confronting these integration challenges immediately could benefit the team more than facing them later in the season during a playoff push.
According to Saenz, Miami's primary issue stems from Antetokounmpo not yet feeling comfortable within head coach Erik Spoelstra's tactical system. While the team nearly mounted a 20-point fourth-quarter comeback against the Charlotte Hornets largely with Antetokounmpo resting, Saenz maintains that solving the frontcourt pairing now provides valuable adversity to build long-term chemistry.
