The Miami Heat face a roster decision regarding center Nick Richards, whose non-guaranteed contract includes a $3.1 million salary that becomes fully guaranteed on opening night unless amended beforehand. Richards stated he is taking the situation day by day and working hard in camp, while leaving the final roster choice to team management.
Head coach Erik Spoelstra praised Richards for his contributions during training camp practices and preseason games. Spoelstra highlighted the center's pick-and-roll coverage and ability to rebound above the crowd, noting that Richards brings a different physical skill set compared to Miami's other frontcourt players.
