Former Miami Heat head coach Stan Van Gundy expressed skepticism regarding the team's roster, calling center Bam Adebayo "a little overrated" offensively. Speaking on the Oct. 15 episode of "The Zach Lowe Show," Van Gundy doubted Miami would finish among the Eastern Conference's top six, raising questions about how Adebayo and the supporting cast will function alongside new addition Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Van Gundy voiced concern over perimeter defense following the additions of shooters Klay Thompson and Tim Hardaway Jr., as well as Davion Mitchell's role as starting point guard. In contrast, LeBron James recently praised Miami's defensive core, while head coach Erik Spoelstra plans to utilize Adebayo extensively as an offensive playmaker alongside Antetokounmpo.
