The odds of the Milwaukee Bucks landing All-Star big man Jalen Duren in a sign-and-trade with the Detroit Pistons appear slim.

Writer Dalton Sell argues that the Milwaukee Bucks should temper their expectations regarding acquiring Jalen Duren via a sign-and-trade. Despite ongoing contract friction with the free agent center, the Detroit Pistons have firmly refused to discuss sign-and-trade options. The Pistons previously offered Duren a five-year contract worth $200 million and appear intent on keeping him.
Duren faces a tight deadline to accept his one-year qualifying offer worth around $10 million, which would let him enter unrestricted free agency next summer. Sell suggests that Milwaukee's most realistic avenue to sign Duren would be pursuing him as an unrestricted free agent next year.
