ESPN personality Cam'ron criticized former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers on First Take following Rivers' critique of Giannis Antetokounmpo's basketball IQ. Cam'ron called Rivers overrated, pointing out that he has only won one championship throughout his 27-season head coaching career. The rapper also scrutinized Rivers' past tenures with the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Milwaukee Bucks, arguing that Rivers underachieved with talented rosters.
Fellow analyst Stephen A. Smith called Rivers' comments about Antetokounmpo foul, though he doubted there was malicious intent behind them. Defending the Bucks star, Smith compared Antetokounmpo's relentless playing style to boxers Mike Tyson and George Foreman. Smith stated that Antetokounmpo is one of the top five players in the world when healthy, arguing his overwhelming dominance means he has not needed to alter his aggressive approach.
